Polish Thursday: UNICEF – cards really full of life
Everybody knows UNICEF charity cards. You buy one and donate money to children. This idea has already 60 years and UNICEF is celebrating this anniversary running a global campaign called „Cards full of life”. The claim is nice of course but it needs to be said that there are tough times for traditional postcards nowadays. Being honest, we are not used to them – we prefer e-mail and sms. Luckily Polish division of UNICEF and the agency Brainshake (Warsaw, Poland) found a solution how to make these cards alive again. At the end of November there were 1000 UNICEF cards sent from Poland. Each card that was sent has a unique number and login. And now it is really simple. You get a card, you go to the www.kartkipelnezycia.pl site, you log-in and afterwards you send the card forward. Thanks to the application you can track the route of your card and meet the people who received and sent it. Starting from the end of November the cards made already 696 910 km, reached all continents and are travelling farther. At the moment there are 1385 people and 1040 cards taking part in this campaign. I hope there will be more – because with every card you still donate money.
