Polish Thursday: Persil – prison
First of all – washing powder ads are usually extremely boring. Secondly – shopping trolleys are not used very often in Poland as an advertising medium (don’t know why, really). But last year DDB Warsaw avoided these two things and used shopping trolleys to strengthen the image of Persil Gold Plus washing powder (as they say it has unbelievable power to remove stains from white clothes). So they put inside and outside the trolley a plate with an image of a man in a striped shirt. The stripes and the trolley itself were supposed to symbolise prison bars. The slogan on the striped shirt was: Free the stain. Simple & nice (especially if we keep in mind that 80% of our shopping decisions are made at point of sale).
